Honest Comparison

How TableSync compares to Zapier, Make & Whalesync

We built TableSync because existing tools were either too expensive, too complex, or not designed for Airtable. Here's how we stack up.

TableSync vs Zapier

The automation giant

Zapier
Starts at $19.99/mo for 750 tasks
TableSync
Free tier, then $29/mo for 50k rows

Use TableSync if...

  • You're a Shopify store syncing orders, payments, and customers to Airtable
  • You want predictable pricing without per-task fees
  • You need Shopify + Stripe + Mailchimp in one Airtable base
  • You're tired of maintaining 3 separate Zaps for e-commerce data

Use Zapier if...

  • You need to connect 50+ different apps beyond our integrations
  • You're building complex multi-step workflows (not just syncing)
  • You need instant triggers for non-Airtable destinations
  • You want app integrations we don't support yet

Key Differences

Pricing Model

Zapier charges per task. If you sync 5,000 Shopify orders, that's 5,000 tasks. On their Starter plan, you'd burn through your quota in minutes. TableSync charges flat monthly pricing regardless of record count.

Airtable Optimization

We're built exclusively for Airtable. Features like incremental sync, automatic field mapping, and handling 100k+ records are native. Zapier treats Airtable like any other app.

Historical Data

TableSync can import your entire order history from day one. Zapier only syncs new/updated records created after you set up the Zap.

🔷

TableSync vs Make (Integromat)

The visual automation platform

Make (Integromat)
Starts at $9/mo for 10,000 operations
TableSync
Free tier, then $29/mo for 50k rows

Use TableSync if...

  • You're a Shopify store that needs order and payment data in Airtable
  • You don't have a technical background or time to learn automation
  • You just need Shopify + Stripe + Mailchimp in Airtable (no complex logic)
  • You want a 2-minute setup, not a visual flowchart builder

Use Make (Integromat) if...

  • You're building complex, branching workflows with conditional logic
  • You have technical skills and want maximum control
  • You need to connect apps we don't support
  • You're willing to invest time learning their visual builder

Key Differences

Complexity vs. Simplicity

Make gives you incredible power to build complex scenarios. But syncing Shopify orders to Airtable requires creating modules, mapping fields, handling errors, and testing. TableSync does this in 3 clicks.

Learning Curve

Make requires understanding operations, routers, iterators, and error handlers. Great for engineers, overwhelming for ops teams. TableSync is designed for non-technical users.

Pricing Complexity

Make charges per operation, which can be confusing. A single scenario might use 5+ operations per record. Our flat pricing is easier to predict.

🐋

TableSync vs Whalesync

The premium bi-directional sync tool

Whalesync
Starts at $49/mo for 50,000 rows
TableSync
Free tier, then $29/mo for 50k rows

Use TableSync if...

  • You're an e-commerce ops team syncing Shopify + Stripe + Mailchimp to Airtable
  • You only need one-way sync for reporting and reconciliation
  • You want predictable flat pricing at $29/mo for 50k records
  • You need Mailchimp and Stripe support (Whalesync doesn't offer both)

Use Whalesync if...

  • You're a Webflow site builder who needs bi-directional CMS sync
  • You need changes in Airtable to flow back to your source tool
  • You want real-time bi-directional sync today
  • Budget is not a primary concern and you need premium support

Key Differences

Different Target Customers

Whalesync is built for Webflow site builders who need bi-directional CMS sync. TableSync is built for e-commerce ops teams who need Shopify + Stripe + Mailchimp data in Airtable for reporting.

Bi-directional Sync

Whalesync does bi-directional sync today. We only support one-way. If you edit in Airtable and need those changes to flow back to Shopify, use Whalesync.

E-commerce Data Sources

TableSync supports Stripe payments and Mailchimp campaigns — critical for e-commerce reconciliation. Whalesync focuses on Shopify and Webflow with limited Stripe support.

🟢

TableSync vs Shopify Flow

Shopify's built-in workflow automation

Shopify Flow
Free with Shopify plan
TableSync
Free tier, then $29/mo for 50k rows

Use TableSync if...

  • You need your Shopify data in Airtable for custom reporting
  • You want to combine Shopify orders with Stripe payments and Mailchimp campaigns
  • You need historical backfill of all orders, customers, and products
  • Your ops team builds dashboards and views in Airtable

Use Shopify Flow if...

  • You need to automate actions inside Shopify (tagging, hiding products, notifications)
  • You want trigger-based workflows that stay within the Shopify ecosystem
  • You don't need data in external tools like Airtable
  • You want a free solution for in-store automation

Key Differences

Different Jobs

Shopify Flow automates actions within Shopify. TableSync gets data out of Shopify into Airtable. They're complementary tools — most stores benefit from using both.

Cross-Platform Data

Flow only works with Shopify data. TableSync combines Shopify + Stripe + Mailchimp into a single Airtable base, linked by customer email. One source of truth for your entire stack.

Reporting

Flow has no reporting features. TableSync puts your data in Airtable where you can build filtered views, rollup fields, and dashboards that anyone on the team can customize.

Why We Built TableSync

We were frustrated users of Zapier and Make. We'd set up 3 separate Zaps to sync Shopify orders, Stripe payments, and Mailchimp campaigns to Airtable, only to get surprise bills when we hit task limits. We'd watch Make scenarios fail because of rate limits we didn't know existed.

The existing tools are amazing at automation, but they're not purpose-built for the simple, common use case: "I just want my e-commerce data in Airtable for reporting."

So we built TableSync with three principles:

  • Predictable pricing: Flat monthly fee. No per-task surprises.
  • Zero-config: Connect your apps, click sync. We handle field mapping.
  • Airtable-first: Built for Airtable's API, rate limits, and data model.

We're not trying to replace Zapier or Make. If you need 1,000+ app integrations or complex branching logic, they're better. But if you want Shopify + Stripe + Mailchimp in Airtable without a computer science degree, we're your best bet.

We'll never tell you we're better at everything. Here's where each tool actually shines.
