How to Reconnect an Integration
If an integration shows as disconnected or syncs are failing due to authentication, you'll need to reconnect. This is a normal maintenance task and your data and configurations are preserved.
When You Need to Reconnect
Reconnecting is required when:
- The connection shows as "Disconnected" on your Dashboard
- Syncs fail with "authentication" or "unauthorized" errors
- You changed your password on the source service
- You revoked TableSync's access from the source platform
- The OAuth token expired (rare, usually after many months)

Signs Your Connection Needs Refreshing
| Symptom | Likely Cause |
|---|---|
| Red "Disconnected" badge | Explicit disconnection |
| Syncs failing with auth errors | Token expired or revoked |
| "Reconnect" button appears | TableSync detected an issue |
| Multiple syncs failing simultaneously | Connection-level problem |
Step-by-Step Reconnection
For Any Integration (Airtable, HubSpot, Shopify, Mailchimp)
- Go to your Dashboard
- Find the integration that needs reconnecting
- Look for the Reconnect button (or click the three-dot menu)
- Click Reconnect

Complete the Authorization
- A popup window will open
- Log in to the service if prompted
- Review and approve the permissions (same as original setup)
- Wait to be redirected back to TableSync

Verify the Connection
- The integration card should show "Connected" with a green indicator
- Check that your account name/email is displayed correctly
- Your syncs should resume automatically

What Happens to Your Data
When you reconnect:
| Item | What Happens |
|---|---|
| Existing syncs | Preserved - keep their configuration |
| Field mappings | Unchanged - no need to reconfigure |
| Historical data | Safe - nothing is deleted from Airtable |
| Sync schedules | Resume - automatic syncs continue |
| Sync history | Retained - you can still view past logs |
Important: Reconnecting does NOT delete or reset anything. It only refreshes the authentication.
After Reconnecting
Run a Manual Sync
After reconnecting, you may want to catch up on missed data:
- Find each sync that uses this integration
- Click Sync Now to trigger an immediate sync
- Check that it completes successfully
Check for Missed Data
If the integration was disconnected for a while:
- Review what timeframe was missed
- The next sync will pull current data
- Historical data from during the disconnection may not sync
- For HubSpot/Shopify/Mailchimp: only currently-existing records sync
Provider-Specific Notes
Airtable Reconnection
- Re-select which bases TableSync can access
- Consider granting access to all bases for convenience
- Existing base/table selections in syncs should still work
HubSpot Reconnection
- Make sure you select the same HubSpot portal
- Permissions requested are the same as initial connection
- Custom properties will still be available
Shopify Reconnection
- Enter the same store URL
- The app may show as needing "re-installation"
- Your store data access remains the same
Mailchimp Reconnection
- Ensure you log into the correct Mailchimp account
- Audience access remains as before
- Merge fields and tags stay available
Troubleshooting Reconnection Issues
"Pop-up was blocked"
Solution:
- Look for a blocked popup indicator in your browser address bar
- Click it and allow popups from tablesync.io
- Try reconnecting again
"Authorization denied"
Possible causes:
- You're logged into the wrong account
- Your account permissions changed
- Two-factor authentication issue
Solution:
- Log out of the service completely in your browser
- Try reconnecting and log in fresh
- Make sure you approve all permission requests
"Connection shows connected but syncs still fail"
Possible causes:
- Cache issue
- Partial reconnection
Solution:
- Refresh your Dashboard page
- Try disconnecting completely, then reconnecting
- Check the specific sync error messages
"I can't find the Reconnect button"
If a connection doesn't show as disconnected but syncs fail:
- Click the three-dot menu on the integration card
- Select Disconnect
- Then click Connect to reconnect fresh
Preventing Future Disconnections
Password Changes
When you change your password on any integrated service:
- Expect that TableSync will need reconnection
- Reconnect proactively right after changing your password
- Don't wait for syncs to fail
Revoking Access
If you need to revoke TableSync's access from a source platform:
- First, pause or delete syncs in TableSync
- Then revoke access in the source platform
- If you want to use TableSync again later, reconnect
Monitoring
Check your Dashboard regularly:
- Look for warning badges on integration cards
- Enable email notifications for failures
- Address issues promptly before they affect multiple syncs
Frequently Asked Questions
How often do I need to reconnect?
Most connections last indefinitely. Reconnection is usually only needed after password changes or manual access revocation.
Will I lose my sync configurations?
No. All sync settings, field mappings, and schedules are preserved.
Do I need to reconnect all my syncs individually?
No. Reconnecting the integration fixes all syncs that use it.
What if I reconnect to a different account?
Syncs referencing the old account's data will fail. Make sure you reconnect to the same account.
Can I reconnect while syncs are running?
Yes, but running syncs may fail. It's best to wait for syncs to complete or pause them first.
